Today’s standards for professional digital broadcast is really 1080p but on internet you can get away with 720p or even 480p but In order for your video to sell, or become viral it must look professional.

MAKE HD VIDEOS :
Getting sites like Youtube to display your video in real High Definition can be troublesome sometimes, depending on what format you shot the footage in, and what kind of files your camera create.
Most of the videos uploaded nowadays have the 480 or 720 options available, while you can tell they are not really HD, but instead they quality is pixellated and ugly. You have probably noticed this, and you don’t want to fall into the same trap, it shows that the video maker really didn’t know what he was doing.
How come these videos say HD when they are not really ?
Lets explore three general mistakes that can cause this to happen
- 1. The video was not originally in HD and was stretched to 1920×1080 or other HD sizes.
The problem here is both with the user and the way youtube system determines if a video is HD
Sometimes when a video is stretched to a certain size before uploaded it will have the HD settings available
- 2. The video was originally HD but the file was huge.
Most online video hosting sites don’t like huge files and neither do most viewers who try to stream it over the internet. The basic idea is to not have a huge file to upload to youtube, read below about how to compress your video while maintaining HD quality.
- 3. The video was shot in HD but the lighting was too bad.
Most cheaper HD cameras don’t shoot very well without a lot of light.

Once you have made sure your camera shoots in at least 720p and you have enough light in the scene so that your footage doesn’t pixelate, you’re doing good, so far.
Now to deal with the video files on your computer,I’ll share Some important tips about editing and modifying your files:
When you edit your footage, make sure your editing program doesn’t resize the image, shrinking can be bad too but stretching is worse. Unless you know what you’re doing, both should be avoided.
If stretching is happening it’s usually under some “project settings” or “project format” , make sure your editing project’s settings are similar to the original video format your camera created.
once you’ve finished editing and you’re ready to create a new video file for WEB STREAMING, you should make sure to compress the file to acceptable streaming limits.
You don’t want to create huge files because sites like youtube will add a lot of their own compression.
There are so many compression codecs to chose from and the one I suggest is H.264.
The Incredible H.264 Codec
With this codec you can make a 5 minute video around 30 megabytes and still maintain a clean, professional quality.
H.264 is the secret that 10% or so of Youtube users know about.
When you output your video, see if your editing application has the h.264 compression available (under video options when you save your file).
if not, you can download it for free! Just google it. But be aware that there are many different developers of h.264 codecs and not all are as good as others.
But they are all usually better than uploading a huge raw file to any of the internet video sites that will add their own compression.
Good luck with your video editing and I hope you found this article helpful.
