Many people have a soda with a meal which ends up adding a number of calories to meals without realizing it. Water will provide you with energy to help you keep going throughout the day. Many important bodily functions are dependent on water consumption.

Another simple change which helps many people is spreading your meals out throughout the day. Eating several small meals over the course of the day instead of three large meals can shorten the time between eating and eliminate snacks. This also allows the body to burn more calories because it is receiving these calories in shorter bursts which allows them to be burned to produce energy as they are received.

Also, instead of having five or six elaborate meals throughout the day you may also be able to replace one or two of your meals with a shake or a protein bar.
