Are you about to go on a vacation? You might have already chosen the destination but before you go you need to know some basic tips for traveling. Read this article to find out what you should and shouldn’t do when going on a vacation.

1. Don’t write your address on a luggage tag. This is what the burglars are waiting for. 2. You should always have any piece of important paper with you. Don’t put anything that you will need and can’t afford to lose in your luggage away from you. Don’t forget to make a photocopy of your passport, credit cards and even your driving license.
3. Don’t wear too much jewelry or even better don’t wear any jewelry at all. Golden chains and bracelets, shiny rings and expensive watches only draw the attention to you and you might not want certain people’s attention. My personal advice is to leave your jewelry at home.
4. If you are a woman in a foreign country it is likely that some of the men there would like to send a drink over to your table. You should never accept anything especially a drink from a stranger. Also when you are drinking something you should keep an eye on it just in case somebody slips something in it.
5. When you arrive at your destination you are likely to need a taxi. You should never get in an unmarked taxi. Not only they will almost always charge you a lot more than regular taxis but you can never know if it is a real taxi at all.
6. Your mobile phone might not work in the country where you are at so I would recommend you to get a mobile phone that works in the area you are in for the time you are there.
7. In case you have children and you want to take them with you, you should have a recent photo of each of your children with you in case one of them gets lost.
8. Watch out for pickpockets. In the most case children are working with adults and they are looking for someone to flash a wallet. Keep your wallet in your front pocket and never in the back one.
9. If you want to drive in the area you are visiting make sure your driving license is accepted there. Sometimes you might need an international driving license.
10. Whether going on a bus tour, with your car on your own or on a group travel whatever you do you should enjoy your vacation. Be careful all the time but don’t forget to enjoy your holiday.
